Who is Detective Inspector Stratton?

The Detective Inspector Stratton series is set in Tasmania—an island of wild beauty, historic towns, and rugged coastlines. Larger than half the world’s countries, it lies south of mainland Australia, where the Southern, Indian, and Pacific Oceans meet.

Stratton and his team—misfits rejected by other divisions—form the island’s new Homicide and Violent Unsolved Crime Unit. Their investigations take them to Tasmania’s most breathtaking locations, each harbouring a killer with dark and twisted motivations.

The unit is the Commissioner’s answer to a spike in violent crime and mounting political pressure. But Stratton’s leadership enrages Assistant Commissioner Angus Morton—the very man behind his recent demotion—who lurks in the background of every case.

As Stratton unravels each mystery, he battles more than just killers: his undiagnosed dyslexia, a son who is struggling at school, a failed marriage, and the one thing that still grounds him—his obsession with triathlon.
